In 2024, opportunities to publish your writing are more abundant than ever. Whether you craft short stories, poems, creative nonfiction (CNF), essays, comics, or illustrated/animated works, countless platforms online are eager for new voices. Hosted by Professor of English at Purdue Global James McAdams, this workshop will explore:
- How to find calls for submissions (and what that means)
- Best practices for professionally formatting a submission
- Writing effective cover letters and query letters
- The pros and cons of self-publishing
- Tips to become a better writer—spoiler: the key is to write every day, no matter how rough it is! Even "bad" writing is infinitely better than no writing at all.
